Ventana Garen

Ventana Garen, MA, LPCC
Therapist & Counselor

Ventana is passionate about supporting women into greater self-love, personal power, fulfillment, and connection to their innermost self. Ventana received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, with a focus on mindfulness and transpersonal psychology. She also completed a bachelor’s degree in Somatic Psychology, which bridges the connection between mind and body. Ventana believes the body holds the wisdom and keys for a client to take the next step in their healing and transformative journey. She utilizes a focus on body-centered therapy as well as a holistic approach to her client’s wellbeing in mind, body, and spirit.

At the Colorado Women’s Center, Ventana provides a safe and loving container for her clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, whether clients need support around anxiety, depression, personal growth, self-esteem, empowerment, embodiment, sexuality, relationships, body image, or life transitions. She brings an approach rooted in mindfulness, transpersonal, somatic, Gestalt, and attachment-based therapies. She has worked with teenage girls and women in equine-assisted psychotherapy, as well as with mothers and daughters in somatic and creative-arts therapies. Ventana has a foundation in Synergetic Play Therapy, where she learned to utilize somatic tools for nervous system regulation. She also completed a year-long coaching certification in sexuality, love, and relationships, which blends neurobiology, practical tools, and embodiment practices to support women into authentic expression and greater freedom.

Outside of her work as a therapist, Ventana’s greatest joy is dance, and she is trained as a feminine embodied dance teacher. When not with clients, you can find Ventana dancing her heart out, being awed by the beauty of nature, spending quality time with her friends and loved ones, or being part of communities of women who celebrate and help each other to rise.
