For Women Going Through Divorce
Divorce Therapy for Women
The marriage is ending. Some days it can feel like everything else is ending with it too, the plans, the routines, your sense of who you are. Divorce therapy is where you find footing again, one piece at a time.

Why This Matters Now
Divorce Changes More Than Your Relationship Status.
Divorce touches nearly everything. Your routines, your finances, how you see yourself, sometimes how you relate to your own kids. It can feel disorienting even when the marriage clearly needed to end, and even when leaving was your decision.
Divorce therapy at Colorado Women’s Center gives you a place to process what is actually happening, not just get through the logistics. Your therapist helps you make sense of the grief, the anger, and the identity questions that come with this, at whatever pace you are actually moving at.

Our Promise to You
We Guarantee Our Therapist Matching
Finding a therapist who actually gets what you are dealing with matters more right now, not less. If your first therapist isn’t the right fit, we’ll match you with another at no additional cost. You will not have to start over and retell everything.

Divorce Rarely Shows Up as Just One Feeling.
Most women feel several of these at once, and which one is loudest can change week to week.
Grief and Loss
The marriage is over, and so are the plans you built around it. That loss is real, even when the divorce itself was the right call.
Identity Crisis
You spent years being someone's spouse. Figuring out who you are without that title takes real work.
Anger and Resentment
Some days you are fine. Other days you are furious, at him, at the situation, sometimes at yourself.
Fear and Anxiety
Money, the kids, what happens next. The unknowns can crowd out everything else.
Loneliness
The house is quieter now, and not always in a good way.
Low Self-Esteem
Divorce has a way of making you question your own judgment, not just his. That takes a real hit, and it is worth rebuilding on purpose.
Co-Parenting Challenges
You still have to coordinate with someone you are actively separating from, and that does not get easier on its own.
Depression
Some days, getting out of bed is the whole accomplishment. That is worth taking seriously, not pushing through.
Our Approach
Starting Divorce Therapy for Women.
There is no set order to this work. It follows what is actually pressing for you.
The Match Call Comes First
You talk with a Wellness Coordinator about what you’re going through. She matches you with a therapist who works with women going through divorce.
Making Sense of What’s Actually Happening
Your therapist helps you separate the practical decisions from the emotional ones, so neither one is running the show unchecked.
Working at Your Own Pace
Some weeks are about the grief. Others are about co-parenting logistics or rebuilding your confidence. The work follows what is actually pressing, not a fixed order.
In One of Our Offices, or Online
Sessions are available at our Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, Broomfield, or Longmont offices, or online anywhere in Colorado, seven days a week.

Common Questions
Questions About Divorce Therapy for Women.
Does this have to be a crisis before it is worth calling?
No. Divorce is disorienting even when it is the right decision and even when nothing has gone wrong in the process itself. You do not need to be in crisis to want support through it.
Can this help with the stress of co-parenting specifically?
Yes. Coordinating with someone you are separating from is its own kind of hard, and it does not automatically get easier with time. Your therapist can help you build a working approach to it.
Will this help my confidence, or is it just about processing the divorce itself?
Both, usually. Divorce tends to shake your sense of your own judgment along with everything else, and rebuilding that is often part of the work, not separate from it.
Is what I share confidential?
Yes. What you tell your therapist at Colorado Women's Center is protected under HIPAA. It is not shared with your ex, your family, or anyone else without your written consent, apart from the narrow situations the law requires, such as an immediate safety concern.
How soon can I start?
Usually within about a week. Match Calls are usually available within 48 hours and often within 24. Call 720.810.2355 or use the form on this page to set one up.
Can I do sessions online?
Yes. Online sessions are available anywhere in Colorado, which can help on weeks when getting to an office is one more thing to manage. Sessions are available seven days a week, 8am to 8pm, in person or online.
