If you’re having thoughts of harming yourself or your baby, that’s a medical emergency. Call 911, or call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available right now.

Postpartum Support International’s HelpLine, 1-800-944-4773, offers dedicated postpartum support, though it isn’t equipped to respond to emergencies.

Why This Space Matters

This Isn’t a Reflection of How Much You Love Your Baby.

You’re supposed to feel grateful, glowing, in love from the first moment. When you don’t, shame moves in fast. That shame is common. It isn’t true. Not even close.

Colorado Women’s Center is designed for women, so you won’t have to convince someone this is real before they take it seriously. Every therapist here works with postpartum depression often enough to know it can start any time in the first year, including well after birth.

The baby blues affect an estimated 70 to 80 percent of new mothers and usually pass within two weeks. Postpartum depression is different. It lasts longer, it can feel heavier, and it responds to the right support.

Our Promise to You

We Guarantee Our Therapist Matching

You’re already carrying more than most people can see. That’s enough on its own. Finding the right therapist shouldn’t be one more thing you have to manage alone. Getting the match right matters more here than it does for a lot of what we see. If your first therapist isn’t the right fit, we’ll match you with another at no additional cost. That’s the whole guarantee.

Difficulty Bonding

Feeling disconnected from your baby or numb, worried you’re not feeling what you expected to.

Our Approach

How It Works Here.

Getting started doesn’t require you to have this figured out first. No plan required. Here’s what the first few steps actually look like.

01

The Match Call Comes First.

Before you’re paired with anyone, a Wellness Coordinator listens to what’s going on and what you’re looking for, then matches you with a therapist based on that conversation. That’s the whole call.

02

Working With the Thoughts Behind the Symptoms.

You’re matched with one consistent therapist, who often draws on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help catch the thoughts that feed the shame and hopelessness. One therapist. One relationship.

03

Reconnecting With Your Body, Alongside Talking Through It.

Alongside that, you can build in somatic therapy to work with the exhaustion and disconnection this can leave in your body.

04

In Any of Five Offices, or Online.

Boulder, Denver, Broomfield, Fort Collins, and Longmont each have an office, and every one of them offers online sessions too. Where you start doesn’t have to depend on where you live.

Common Questions

What You’re Probably Wondering.

Will my therapist actually take this seriously?

Yes. Every therapist at Colorado Women’s Center works with women, and your Wellness Coordinator matches you based on what you share on the Match Call. Postpartum depression is taken exactly as seriously as any other condition, without you needing to justify or minimize it.

Is this different from the baby blues?

Yes. The baby blues are common and usually pass within about two weeks on their own. Postpartum depression lasts longer and doesn’t resolve without support, and it can start any time in the first year, not just right after delivery.

Can therapy help me feel more connected to my baby?

Yes. Feeling disconnected from your baby is a common symptom of postpartum depression, not a reflection of how much you love them. Therapy can help you rebuild that connection at whatever pace actually feels right for you and your baby.

How soon can I actually get in?

Match Calls are usually available within 48 hours and often within 24. Most new clients are scheduled with a therapist within about a week, depending on your own availability, and sessions run seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.

Can I do this from home, or does it have to be an office?

Either. Colorado Women’s Center offers in-person sessions at five Front Range offices and online sessions anywhere in Colorado. You can start online and move to an office later, or the other way around, depending on what works for your week.

Do I have to commit to a set number of sessions?

No. That’s decided between you and your therapist rather than set in advance. Some women come in for a defined stretch of work, others keep an ongoing relationship with their therapist for longer. Both are treated as normal here, and the matching guarantee applies either way.

What actually happens on the Match Call?

A Wellness Coordinator listens to what’s going on and what you’re looking for. You control how much detail you share. Based on that conversation, she matches you with a therapist, and there’s no assessment to complete before you talk to someone.
