Therapy that fits college life in Boulder
College in Boulder can be a lot at once. A new city, new people, harder classes, and the quiet pressure to look like you have it together. For many women, this is the first time managing all of it on their own.
Colorado Women’s Center sits on 28th Street and Arapahoe, a short walk, bike, or drive from campus, within reach of the cafes and shops nearby. Many students tell us the trip over is a useful break before a session. Our therapists have years of experience with college women, and the first appointment often happens within a week of reaching out.
Our practice specializes in empowering women. College women come to CWC for the women-centered focus, therapists who know this stage of life, and an ispiring, private space. Your sessions are confidential. CWC is not connected to your school, and what you share stays between you and your therapist. If you have been looking for college counseling in Boulder, this is what it looks like here.

Why college students in Boulder choose CWC
A therapist matched to you
A wellness coordinator learns what you are looking for and pairs you with a therapist who fits your concerns, your goals, and how you like to work.
No session limits or waitlists
Many campus counseling centers do good work, and they often cap how many sessions you can have or carry a waitlist. CWC has neither. You decide how long you want to keep going.
Private and separate from school
CWC is its own practice. Your sessions and records are confidential and not connected to your school in any way.
Therapists who know this stage
Our therapists have years of experience with college women and the specific pressures of these years.
A space that is calm and yours
The Boulder office is quiet and private, with rooms named after women who changed things. Students tell us it feels like a place to slow down.
In person or online
Meet at the office on 28th Street, or online from your dorm, apartment, or home over a break.
You deserve a space where you can be fully yourself. Messy, uncertain, strong, all of it. That is what we built CWC to be.

How college student therapy in Boulder works at CWC
Sessions are one on one, and the work is shaped around what you bring. Your therapist draws on methods like cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness, and chooses the approach based on you rather than a script. CWC also offers Empowerment Therapy, which focuses on building your own sense of agency and worth. Many students start with weekly sessions and adjust from there. You can read more about our team before you decide.

No. Colorado Women's Center is a private practice with no connection to any school. Your sessions and records stay confidential and separate from your campus.
Do you work only with women?
CWC specializes in therapy for women, and college women make up a large part of the people we see. If you are not sure whether we are the right fit, the match call is a good place to ask.
What if my therapist is not the right fit?
Tell us, and we will help you find another therapist at no extra cost. Finding the right match sometimes takes a second try, and that is normal.
Do you take insurance?
CWC is a private-pay practice and is not able to accept Medicaid or Medicare. You can see current fees on our pricing page.
Can we meet online?

What can therapy help with?
Students come in for anxiety, academic stress, depression, the college transition, relationships, body image, burnout, and questions about who they are and what comes next. If something is weighing on you, it is worth bringing up.
Can a parent help set up therapy for their student?
Yes, a parent can reach out to get started. For students who are 18 or older, the student takes part in the match call and decides whether to continue. The work itself stays between the student and the therapist.
