Insights from Our Founder - Kendra Miguez
Are you struggling with low self-esteem? Do your thoughts about yourself often hinder how you want to exist in the world? Is your inner voice your own worst critic?
At Colorado Women’s Center, our self-esteem therapy for women helps you build a foundation of self-acceptance. This journey can be challenging. To let go of the inner critic and cultivate a healthy sense of self, you first have to unravel the narrative that tells you you are not good enough or worthy.
Low self-esteem is often rooted in early life experiences. These experiences, whether within a family setting or school environment, can convey inaccurate messages that we are somehow insufficient. These messages shape our beliefs about ourselves and the world, leading to patterns of negative thinking and self-talk. When such patterns form the basis of our identity, every new experience is filtered through the lens of “I’m not good enough,” perpetuating a cycle of self-doubt and perceived failure.
Breaking free from these negative beliefs requires awareness. Understanding how these thoughts developed is the first step in transforming them. This process can be difficult, since viewing yourself through a lens different from the one you grew up with takes practice. With awareness and the proper support, change is possible.
At Colorado Women’s Center, we focus on helping you change the tune of your inner voice from critical to compassionate. Empowerment therapy works directly on that shift, helping you claim your own authority over the story you tell about yourself. By paying attention to your self-talk, you gain insights that can lead to positive change. Many are unaware of how much their inner voice influences their moods and actions. The mind is powerful, and when we harness that power positively, we can find the confidence and happiness we all deserve.
If you are struggling with low self-esteem, it is possible to change your negative beliefs about yourself. With the right support, you can walk with grace and confidence, leaving behind the weight of self-doubt.
We offer therapy in our beautifully designed offices across Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, Longmont, and Broomfield, and we provide online therapy to support women throughout Colorado. If you’re ready to begin your journey towards self-acceptance, we’re here to help.
