Sara is honored to be part of the Colorado Women’s Center team, where she brings compassion, wisdom, and a deep commitment to helping women discover their inner strength. Having lived on the Front Range for more than fifteen years, Sara has made Colorado her home after growing up in Ohio, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in French with a minor in psychology at Otterbein College. She went on to complete her Master of Social Work at The Ohio State University, and her career has been dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges and transitions.
Sara’s clinical experience includes many years serving veterans within the VA Healthcare system, where she supported individuals facing trauma, PTSD, depression, and complex trauma. Today, her focus is on creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative space where women can feel truly heard and accepted. She believes that within every person lies an untapped well of resilience and wisdom, and her work centers on helping clients access these strengths to foster growth and healing.
Drawing on approaches such as EMDR, Trauma Intensive Stabilization Therapy, mindfulness, somatic therapy, parts work, and Jungian perspectives, Sara tailors her work to each client’s unique needs. As an intercountry adoptee from South Korea raised by white parents, she brings lived experience and insight to her work with transracial adoptees and the BIPOC community. Her journey through single motherhood, marriage, and parenting young children later in life has given her a profound empathy and a deeper understanding of the challenges many women face.
Sara is passionate about the mind-body connection and has a personal interest in nutrition and its impact on mental health. Outside of her practice, she is an avid learner who enjoys yoga, playing the piano, reading for growth and pleasure, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband and three children.
Sara approaches therapy with warmth, authenticity, and hope, believing in the ripple effect of healing—when one woman steps into her power, she inspires change in her family, her community, and beyond.
