Is EMDR Right for Me?
You may be here because a friend, doctor, or therapist suggested EMDR. Or because talk therapy alone hasn’t moved the needle. Women often explore EMDR when they notice:
Unwanted memories, dreams, or body reactions that won’t settle
Feeling on edge, shut down, or “not myself” after a distressing event (recent or long ago)
Trouble sleeping or concentrating; triggers that seem to come out of nowhere
If this sounds familiar, EMDR could be a fit. We’ll help you decide in a quick, supportive Therapist Match Call.
3 Steps to Doing EMDR with Us
Match — Tell us what you’re facing and what you want in a therapist. We guarantee your therapist match.
Meet — Your first session focuses on comfort, goals, and tools you can use between visits.
Move Forward — EMDR at your pace, with a plan tailored to your life.
What Is EMDR
EMDR is a structured therapy that pairs brief focus on specific memories with gentle left‑right (bilateral) stimulation, often guided eye movements, taps, or tones. Many people find this helps the brain reprocess and “unstick”experiences so the memories feel less intense and more manageable over time.
We go slowly, build coping tools first, and you control the pace.
How EMDR Therapy Can Help You
EMDR is highly effective for a wide range of mental health issues and life challenges. It is particularly beneficial for women dealing with:
Alleviates Trauma Symptoms
Reduces Anxiety and Panic Disorders
Improves Depression Symptoms
Enhances Self-Esteem
Addresses Phobias and Fears
Manages Chronic Pain
Improves Interpersonal Relationships
Facilitates Grief and Loss Recovery
Everyone’s story is unique. Your therapist will collaborate on a plan that fits your goals and comfort.
What Success Looks Like
Imagine sleeping more soundly, fewer spikes from old triggers, feeling safer in your body, and responding, rather than reacting, in moments that matter. That’s the kind of progress EMDR is designed to support.
Our EMDR Approach (What Sessions Look Like)
We blend EMDR with trauma‑informed, evidence‑based care. A typical path includes:
Stabilize & prepare: Grounding skills, nervous‑system regulation, and safety planning.
Target & reprocess: Identify memories, beliefs, or sensations that feel charged; process them at a pace that feels safe using bilateral stimulation.
Integrate: Check in with your body and thoughts, reinforce progress, and plan your next steps between sessions.

The EMDR Phases We Follow
History & assessment
Preparation (skills and safety)
Assessment (identify target + beliefs)
Desensitization (reprocessing with BLS)
Installation (strengthen positive beliefs)
Body scan
Closure (end sessions grounded)
Re-evaluation (review progress and next targets)
What to Expect & Timing
Session length is typically 50 minutes.
Frequency and duration vary. Many clients combine EMDR with other approaches; your therapist will make a personalized plan and revisit it with you regularly.
EMDR can feel emotionally activating at times. We’ll build tools so you have support in and between sessions.
Online EMDR uses adapted tools (e.g., tapping, tones).
You don’t have to keep reliving what happened or white‑knuckling through your week. There’s a steadier way forward.
