Work-Life Balance Therapy in Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, Broomfield, Longmont

Are you struggling to find a balance between your work life and your personal life? Are you overwhelmed with stress? Are you being forced to choose your job over other important facets of your life? If so, you are not alone. Due to the fact that for many, a seventy-hour work week is required just to get ahead, a work-life balance is becoming more and more necessary.

At Colorado Women’s Center, we help women find balance in their lives. Unfortunately, because the feeling that simply working hard is no longer enough, many American employees have named their workplace as being the single greatest source of stress in their lives. According to a recent survey, 4 out of 10 US employees state that their jobs are “extremely” stressful. And, problems caused by stress have become a major concern to both employers and employees.

We have seen at Colorado Women’s Center that not finding a proper work-life balance can eventually take a major toll on a person’s overall health. In fact, seventy-five to ninety percent of physician visits are related to stress. And, because the mind and body are so connected, symptoms of stress can present both physiologically and psychologically. Stress can result in cardiovascular disease, sexual health problems, a weaker immune system, frequent headaches, stiff muscles, backaches, or rashes. It can also cause one to develop poor coping skills, irritability, jumpiness, insecurity, exhaustion, and difficulty concentrating. In addition, stress often leads to binge eating, smoking, and alcohol consumption.

Women, in particular, report stress related to the conflict between work and family. If a woman is to seek a position of power within an organization, she must consider the toll on other parts of her life, such as hobbies, relationships, families, and personal growth. This seems to be a particularly high price for women to pay in order to make a living.

Work-life balance should be maintained for an efficient and effective life. If you are struggling in this area, we can help you find a way to properly prioritize between your work and your lifestyle, so that you can dedicate proper attention to all of the areas in your life that matter. You deserve to live fully with purpose and meaning.
