KATIE FORTUNE, MA, LPCC, NCC
Therapist & Counselor

Trained at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, Katie Fortune received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a National Certified Counselor. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals and couples of many different ages and backgrounds who experienced anxiety, trauma, depression, relationships issues, and adverse childhood experiences.

At the Colorado Women’s Center, Katie’s priorities are to create a safe, supportive environment and to honor client’s experiences using empathy and unconditional positive regard. She recognizes the strength and bravery it takes to share one’s story and thus strives to develop a strong, trusting, collaborative relationship with her clients from the beginning. Katie loves to emphasize her client’s innate strengths while nurturing new ones to navigate through life’s difficult moments. She also recognizes the large role relationships play in our lives, so she works to explore client relationships and develop communication and boundary skills. She also utilizes strength-based and mindfulness techniques. Katie draws from modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and attachment theory. Her goal is to empower women to experience the world confidently and let their light shine.

Katie is passionate about reading as many books as she can, running, cooking, connecting with nature and spending time with her family and her German Shepherd, Appa.
