Anya Garvey

Therapist & Counselor

Anya Garvey, MA, LPC, RYT celebrates 15 years of providing life changing counseling and coaching services that empower clients to be more alive, awake, and aware. She is an integrative Licensed Professional Counselor and specializes in Anxiety, Trauma (sexual assault, intimate partner abuse, physical abuse, familial abuse and neglect, mass violence, unexpected death of a loved one), Life Transitions and Existential Crises, Chronic Illness/Fatigue, Relationship Dissatisfaction and Dysfunction, and Disordered Eating.

With a Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling, she is a Registered Yoga Teacher, a Certified TRE Provider (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises), a Certified Eating Disorder Treatment Clinician and Recovery Coach, has a certificate in Nutritional Psychology, and is in the midst of a Master Reiki Certification program.

At Colorado Women’s Center, Anya’s approach is rooted in promoting authenticity and recognizing choice, so that clients build the confidence to be agents of change over their experience, masterfully creating and living their most fulfilling life. As a truly integrative therapist, she is informed by the interplay between biology, physiology, psychology, and sociology and operates under a holistic paradigm in attempts to observe and treat issues from a multitude of angles which may include thought patterns, body insight, breath, movement, creativity, sound, verbalization, and physical health.
Anya is skilled at supporting a wide variety of clients, but offers especially unique expertise in alternative relationship structures (non-monogamy, polyamory, open-relationship), queer gender identities (transgender, gender non-binary), queer sexual identities (lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, kinky, asexual), child-free by choice, and bariatrics.

She is immensely honored to be able to support clients in their transformation while enabling them and equipping them to evolve into the people they hope to become. When she is not meeting with clients, Anya is hiking the foothills with her two fur-babies, Porter and Paisley, reading snarky, inspiring memoirs, learning to play the drums, exploring national parks in her converted camper van, or making a mess of the kitchen by cooking and baking delicious (if all goes right) meals and desserts.
