Yazmine provides a therapeutic environment that is person-centered and utilizes a holistic approach. She is passionate about providing mental health services, psycho-education and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of others. Her goal is to provide a safe, welcoming therapeutic environment for all individuals. Yazmine (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, with a concentration in Mental Health. She holds a certificate in Trauma from the University of Denver and utilizes a trauma-informed approach when working with clients. Yazmine has knowledge and experience in working with high-need, high-risk individuals; families facing hardships, such as the effects of trauma; and behavioral health concerns, including involvement with the criminal justice system. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults diagnosed with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Autism, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Schizophrenia, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Substance Use Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and more.
She has also worked with youth and adults who have experienced domestic violence, physical and sexual abuse, abandonment and neglect, and those who have been removed from their primary caregivers due to family violence and drug and alcohol addiction. Yazmine utilizes various evidence-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). At Colorado Women’s Center, Yazmine is committed to providing a non-judgmental, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic space in order for women to feel heard and feel safe to explore who they truly are. She believes that women are strong, powerful and resilient, and that every woman has the capacity to live their best life no matter the challenges and obstacles put in their way. Outside of therapy, Yazmine enjoys reading, writing, crafting, and spending time exploring small towns and new coffee shops.
