Kirsten Larsen, MA, LPC
Therapist & Counselor
Kirsten is delighted and proud to be part of the Colorado Women’s Center team. It has been her dream for many years to help women awaken to their own innate power and strength. Fueled by her life experiences and inspired by the women who helped raise her, Kirsten is deeply passionate about her work as a therapist.
Originally from Northern Virginia, Kirsten has lived in Boulder County for the last 20 years. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from CU Boulder, she knew that solely studying people wasn’t satisfying enough for her. She wanted to go deeper, to help facilitate change and healing. Kirsten received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University and is grateful every day to be able to do the work that she does.
Kirsten has always been curious about the human experience. She is passionate about the therapeutic process and has deep reverence for the bravery it takes to begin the journey. She is a humanistic oriented therapist who is both warm and direct. Kirsten has a holistic approach and will work collaboratively with you to best meet your needs.
At Colorado Women’s Center, Kirsten incorporates Gestalt, Existential, DBT, CBT and somatic modalities into her work with clients. In addition, Kirsten is trained in EMDR. Whether you are experiencing life transition or wanting to tend to your wounds rooted in survived trauma, Kirsten will meet you exactly where you are. She has a tender place in her heart for working with sexual trauma, pregnancy loss/fertility issues, addictions and grief/loss. In her free time, Kirsten can be found on her yoga mat or meandering an open space trail with her rescue dog, Charlie.
