The therapists at Colorado Women’s Center are highly trained in working with anxiety. We believe that mindfulness and somatic awareness can be the key to living a satisfying, anxiety-free life. Are you ready to do the work to tame your mind, so that you are no longer a prisoner of it?
We work with women and anxiety every day.
It is that common. In fact, anxiety is so common that it is estimated that over 19 million American adults experience some form of anxiety disorder. And this estimate takes into account only the people who report their anxiety symptoms. Sadly, our culture views anxiety as a weakness. Therefore, many people are too embarrassed or ashamed to admit that they are suffering.
Because anxiety comes in many different forms, it can be difficult to distinguish between an official diagnosis and “normal” anxiety. Basically, the biggest sign of generalized anxiety disorder is worrying too much about everyday things, big and small. This means having persistent, anxious thoughts which interfere with daily functioning most days of the week for at least six months.

Common Questions About Anxiety Therapy
We believe that women shouldn’t shine less because they are afraid of how their light will affect others. We feel that women should be proud of who they are in all of their beauty and imperfections. It’s okay to walk with your head held high. It’s okay to laugh out loud. It’s okay to dress in whatever way makes you feel beautiful. It’s okay to look different. It’s okay to love whoever you want to love. By projecting your self-love and security, you are able to show others how to do the same.
Women’s therapy addresses women’s issues with a sense of understanding and compassion. This form of women’s therapy and counseling is designed to honor the independent and collective female needs within an individual. By developing self-awareness and acceptance, one is able to recognize these characteristics in others. True self-esteem takes work. It has to be built. It takes persistence, forgiveness, and acceptance, but it is very possible and it is so worth it because self-acceptance is the key to life satisfaction!
